something special,

something new

As a content production company, we've always strived to include the team and the community in our videos. All the videos below were created for certain notable days and were specially scripted and worked on outside of our consistent show properties. Each of the videos below were individually illustrated and graphically worked on in post-production, each with less than 2 days to release. The concepts and design languages were adapted to fit with each theme while still staying true to the Yuvaa sensibilities.

DEAR AUNTY (SPOKEN WORD POEM) | AN OPEN LETTER | YUVAA | Ft. Aisha Ahmed, Yashaswini Dayama

'Dear Aunty, hum thak gaye hain'. Here's a spoken word open letter to all aunties, who don't get tired of commenting on us girls. Dear Aunty, Hum thak gaye hai. “Laal lipstick pehen ke kitni loud lag rahi ho” “Laal lehenga pehen lo kitni badi ho gayi ho” "Ladkon ke saath itna chipak chipak ke kyu baat karti ho" “Bhai saath mein hain na faaltu mein kyu darti ho” “Top thoda upar karo, bra straps dikh rahe hai” “Skirt thoda neeche karo, ghutne dikh rahe hai” “Office se itna late aati ho, na jaane kis kiske saath soti ho” “Aur phir rape ho jaye, toh poore internet pe roti ho” Kahin bhi jao toh Purse mein fully charged phone, Doston se bhi milna ho toh Pepper spray bhoolta hai kon? Nikalte hue har baar live location share, “Chalo today was better”, agar din mein ek hi mile stare. Auto mein rear view mirror ki tension, Auto driver ka unnecessary attention, ‘Cute’ taango ke beech acute angle placement, Baajuon ka use as shield ka replacement. Thak gaye hai khud ko badal badal kar, Dosroon ki nazar se sambhal sambhal kar, Thak gaye hai online woke banke, Aur offline gali mein darpok banke. Thak gaye hai safety humari chun chun kar, Aur precautions tumhari sun sun kar. Thak gaye hai. ‘20 ways to be safe; for women’ ‘10 self defence moves you need to know; for women’ ‘5 ways to avoid trollers; for women’ And then there’s this one comment you make, On women. Aunty, galti sirf aapki nahi hai, Hum samajhte hai. Aap bhi kabhi wohi ladki thi Jo apni zindagi apni tarah se jeena chahti thi. Jisko high waist skirt par nahi, deep neck blouse pe judge kiya jaata tha. Jisko ‘ten ways to be the perfect girlfriend’ ke article nahi, but ‘pati parmeshwar’ ki ‘sati savitri’ banne ki ‘katha kunji’ padhayi jaati thi. We’re sorry ki aapko ghar late aane ki nahi, Ghar se kahin jaane ki hi ladai ladni padti thi. We’re sorry ki is generation gap ko hum kabhi ungap hi nahi kar paye. We’re sorry ki aapko aaj tak rape ki wajah kapdo ki length lagti hai, We’re sorry ki humara self defence hi aapko humari strength lagti hai. We’re sorry that rape ki vajah vo nahi hum hai, Yahaan condition nahi, conditioning hi problem hai, We’re sorry ki yeh you versus us ho gaya, Chalo yeh ladai hum band karein, Ab bas ho gaya. Chalo aap aur main ek baar baith kar baat karte hai, Ye rape ke comment PE nahi, Is rape ke culture se hi ladte hain. DEAR PAPA, I DON'T LIKE YOU | FATHER'S DAY POEM | Ft Rajat Barmecha, Prit Kamani, SlowCheeta | YUVAA

ON THIS FATHER'S DAY, SHARE THIS VIDEO WITH YOUR PAPA AND GIVE HIM A HUG! :) Yuvaa brings to you an emotional spoken word poem for Papas jo pyaar keh ke nahi, kar ke dikhaate hain. Dedicated to all the fathers who couldn't say 'I love you', from all the sons who want to. #FathersDay #HugYourPapa Full poem: Dear Papa, I don’t like you. Office se roz ghar late aane ke lie, I don’t like. Mujhse zyada risthedaaro ke kaam aane ke lie, I don’t like you Uth ja, pad le, ja chai bana, aise hi roz subah jaldi uthaane ke lie, I don't like you. ‘Tera baap hoon mai’ , ‘zyada bada hoaya hai tu?’ ‘mard ban yaar!’ Mujhe aate jaate meri ‘aukat’ dikhaane ke lie, I don't like you. I don’t like you. Ye perfect son hone ke perfect plan, on how to be perfect man, ye concept mujhe samajh mein nahi aata, ye khayaal mere dimaag se kabhi nahi jaata, Kya mardaangi bas oonchi aawaz mein hai? head of family hone ke naaz mein hai? kya mardaangi moocho aur muscles ke dum mein hai? mojito mein nahi bas ‘paani aur rum’ mein hai? kya mardaangi bhi ek duty hai? kya mardaangi kabhi nahi soti hai? kya mardaangi mein ye distance zaroori hai? thoda emotional hue to kya mardaangi adhoori hai? kya mardaangi mein pyaar nahi dikhaate? kya apne hi bete ko kabhi gale nahi lagaate? Papa, main samjhta hoon aap pe jo pressure the, mard banne ke course mein kabhi aap bhi fresher the, shaayad alag vo aapke teacher the, jo gender roles ke preacher the, main samajhta hoon, ki aap meelo meel chal kar school jaate the, khud ko bhi, apne bhai behno ko bhi padhaate the, aapko humein ‘protect’ karna padta tha, apne wills aur wishes ko humesha reject karna padta tha, par kya mai bhi aise hi sakht rahu? jo sach hai vo kehne se darta rahu? kyunki pyaar dikhaana humein aata nahi, aur gussa ek doosre ka bhaata nahi, kyunki aapne ye kabhi kaha nahi, aur mujhse ab chup jaata raha nahi, Papa, I don’t like you. I love you. Office se roz late aate hue ice cream laane ke liye, I love you Koi rishtedaar humein kuch zyada bole to unhe chup karvaane ke liye, I love you apne saath saath sabke liye chai banaane ke liye, I love you Bachpan mein apne kandhon pe poori market ghumaane ke liye, I love you Apni daant mein humesha pyaar chupaane ke liye, I love you Humaari saari zimmedaariyaan uthaane ke liye, I love you Pyar bas keh ke nahi, kar ke dikhaane ke liye, I love you. Dad, Father Sahab, Pops, Oye Father, Papa, I love you. Kabhi kabhi keh bhi dete hai, acha lagega.
